"I have not spoken to anyone outside Downing St of your Father being unwell but I have said to Venetia & other people that he is tired & that I should be glad for him to have a short holiday after the introduction of the H.R. Bill. If as I hope very much this should happen I think that it is better not to be at pains to conceal that fact... The Master... tells me that he has suggested a plan by which your Father could get away until May 7th from tomorrow week."
