"I have had 3 days in London with Father, Margot, Oc & Cys - Tante coming to every meal – Lord Crewe, Lord Morley & Sir Edward Grey alternating at most. On Wed. night Oc & I went down to the Club – it fell rather luckily my being there as it was just the psychological nick of time to Svengali them into going to Night school which begins again this week. I coaxed & threatened & bribed & terrorized"

"My Beloved – I came up from London on Friday night... I drew up in front of beloved Haddo to find them all typically assembled in front of the house being photographed! in one of those family groups we know so well – Dudley & Haddo in kilts – & your Father too – your Mother, Marjorie, Miss Younger, & two Upward & Onward women Mrs Forbes & Mrs Innes."
