"A glorious service in the chapel in the evening – held by Mr Holden – Dr. Brabner preached a most touching sermon. I have never seen the chapel full before – people were sitting on chairs all the way up the aisle – & crowding outside the door. I sat between Haddo & Miss Younger in a rather tightly packed pew. The singing seemed to come out of everyone's hearts...."
