Correspondence (1 of 1)

Letter #79Morning
"

I am not in the best of moods this morning. A contributory cause is the Lichnowsky couple, whom I find rather trying guests... she took possession of the piano-stool, and strummed & drummed...

Asquith writes from The Wharf, complaining about his guests, the Lichnowskys, describing them as having no manners and the wife's piano playing as 'infernal'. He mentions receiving a letter and a map from Carson.

Mentioned:Prince Lichnowsky • Princess Lichnowsky • Edward Carson

HER DAYProbably in London, keeping a typical Sunday-in-town rhythm: writing/receiving letters, seeing friends, and/or doing light social engagements rather than traveling.. Very likely in close touch with Asquith by correspondence that day (she had recently been writing him and receiving long, intimate letters).
