The New York Stock Exchange re-opens for general trading [23]. In the North, Russian forces temporarily abandon the advance on Cracow after heavy fighting [25]. A young German lieutenant, Otto Koehn, is discovered in a packing case at Tilbury, attempting to escape to Rotterdam [26].
