The Pancho Villa Expedition commander John J. Pershing established a base of operation in Colonia Dublán, Mexico.[4]. Ernest Shackleton calculated that the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition's emergency camp had drifted 60 miles east of Paulet Island.[4]
